Ali continues to improve and has more energy. She was able to try some regular food from the hospital cafeteria today. We talked for a while and watched a little Saturday Night Live on TV.

Ali was eating again today and walked clear around the unit she is in!!! She was much stronger both in the morning and in the evening, talking a lot more too. Friends had been visiting during the day. This is the most improvement I’ve seen happen from one day to the next.

Ali swallowed some orange banana smoothie that I made and brought to her yesterday!!! So far she had just been using ice chips to work up to this and she said she had invented a new flavor “clear”.  The day before she wished she could taste mint so I gave her a drop of binaca breath freshener on an ice chip which she liked and said she wished she could have a whole mouth full instead of just a tiny ice chip. She still has work to do to build up her strength and abilities to get out of the hospital but it looks like we are over the hump on this it is a real breakthrough!!!  please keep sending love and healing to her

She wants to tell you that she is still unable to respond to your phone calls email or facebook but will as soon as she is well enough too. The hospital has a service where messages can be sent to her am not sure but it may be through their website. Two messages were delivered to her by staff yesterday which she read and enjoyed.

Shes up walking a bit and enjoying the day. We watched a little bit of a Jimmy Stewart western and talked for a while. Her friend Pam came in the afternoon and spent a couple of hours with her. The nurse and therapist were really good with her today and very encouraging and happy to see her doing better.

Ali was looking a lot better midday and was smiling this evening before she went for an MRI. She is sleeping peacefully now. Will check on her in the morning.

Ali is in recovery. This morning she was feeling sick and her head was hurting so the nurse gave her a pain pill and some nausea medication. She was drinking a little water and eating bigger ice chunks than had seen before so from my perspective she is improving slowly but surely, I just wish she was feeling better. Will check in on her later today and update you then.

Ali was still too worn out from the surgery to go into rehab today. I asked the CNA and she said it was okay to send flowers to cheer her up. She is on the 4th floor of St. Alphonses hospital in Boise if you would like to send some.

Ali is moving into rehab today where she will get swallowing therapy.  This is one of the things she needs to do to be able to go home.

Also please note that before Ali went into the hospital she asked me not to moderate the messages which is why they are not showing. She will be able to read them when she gets home and approve them then so keep sending them

Ali was sitting up when I visited her Tue morning. She walked a bunch today. Was there for a few hours in the evening and she said today was a good day but the night was a bit rougher.

Ali is out of the ICU which is good and she is improving steadily – keep sending her love and healing says Damien
